Galatians 6:9
A. As I put this message together I am thinking of traveling on a journey with my family. Sometimes we forget things. We have to stop and get gas. We have to stop and eat. We get down the road and the food order is messed up. We must stop and use the restroom. The kids are screaming, "are we there yet?" My back is starting to hurt. The kids start getting on my nerves. We travel three to four hours down the road, and stop to eat again. The questions start again. Are we there yet? Back in the van, the air conditioner isn't working right. I'm tired and start thinking it might have been better to never have started the journey.
B. In our spiritual journey with Jesus Christ, this must be our heartbeat. be not weary in well-doing. Living for God can be the same if you don't do it right. We come home from work and we are tired. We sit down to relax a little bit and a few minutes later the question is not, "are we there yet, but, honey what time is it?" You begin to think, 'I'll just lie here just a few more minutes.' A little later you ask, "what time is it?" You tell the kids, "Go ahead and take your bath first." Later, you have to hurry or you're going to be late.
The devil wants us to think that church is a waste of time. That serving Jesus Christ is a waste of your life. The devil is a liar. Don't be weary in well doing!
*There isn't a reason to be tied to depression.
*There isn't a reason to be bound with despair.
*There isn't a reason to stop fighting.
*There isn't a reason to throw in the towel.
The devil says prayer doesn't work, and that faith and hope, are a waste of time. Remember the devil is a liar! The Word of God says, "for in due season we shall reap if we faint not!"
Don't quit -- Keep on fighting! Our reward is just ahead!
